Client’s feedback:
- Tour guides:
Mr. Pom (Luang Prabang)
Mr Pom was very helpful on our arrival after a very long journey. His knowledge about Luang Prabang was very good. His English language skills were good. His pace of visiting sites was well timed rearranging the order of sites to avoid the hottest part of the day. His suggestion for our free day was very helpful. The bottle of wine for our anniversary was a very nice surprise and we enjoyed drinking it!
Mr. Sakhone (Vientiane)
Mr Sakhone English language skills were very good. His information giving was easily understood as it was at a good pace as was his site visits. He suggested places to eat in the evenings with directions.
Mr. Bounleua (in Luang Prabang)
We did not have this tour guide.
Mr. Sophan (in Siem Reap)
Mr Sophan was extremely knowledgeable about the Angkor Wat sites imparting a very large amount of information at a good pace. He rearranged the order of visits to the sites to avoid the hottest part of the day.The present of the scarves was an unexpected surprise.
Ms. Srey Len (in Phnom Penh)
Despite having a much later arrival in Phnom Penh due to the change of a much later flight Ms Len managed to fit in all the site visits with ease even including a visit to the Russian Market. Her English language skills were very good. We liked the fact that she allowed us time on our own at the sites.
- Accommodation
Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel (Luang Prabang)
The was the most wonderful start to our holiday and we cannot find fault in the hotel in any way. We even received a bottle of wine and anniversary cake which was delicious! The staff were excellent with a personal farewell from the Manager. Our favourite hotel.
Settha Palace Hotel (Vientiane)
A nice quiet room as requested. Reception manager was very helpful in suggesting and arranging a driver for our free day.
Wat Phou Cruise (Pakse)
A lovely boat with excellent friendly staff. We ate the best meals on the boat in the best situated tables. This was a superb experience.
Champasak Palace (Pakse)
This hotel was quite impersonal after our previous hotels. There was no welcome drink and reception staff were not particularly friendly because we could not produce an accommodation voucher.
The air conditioning did not work well and the pillows were very hard and so a bad night’s sleep.
Pavillon D’Orient Boutique Hotel (Siem Reap)
What a lovely little hotel! No wonder it is top of the Tripadviser list! The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Reception staff arranged a driver for our free day. We particularly liked the breakfasts, the fresh fruit daily, and the complimentary massage. This really is a gem of a hotel.
Raffle Hotel Le Royal (Phnom Penh)
The hotel is all you would expect from a Raffles hotel. All the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The breakfast buffet was superb.
- Transport
All the air conditioned cars were clean, comfortable and modern with a good supply of cold water after site visits. The drivers were careful and competent.
- Restaurants:
Most of the restaurants were a good standard with good food and service but 2 around the Angkor site were too touristic for our liking with mediocre service. We did not have the lunch in a local floating house on day 14 but instead a very touristic restaurant.
- Places you visited
We enjoyed all the places we visited – they were varied and very interesting. Meeting the sole survivor of the Genocide centre – Chum Mey was a privilege.
- Design and management of your tour:
The tour was designed to meet our specific requests and was well managed. We would have included a visit to Banteay Srei had we known of it’s wonderful Angkor art. Our guide told us of it too late to include it. Also a visit to the Landmine Museum -this we did ourselves anyway.
- Are there any recommendations or criticisms of services, restaurants, shops, visit sites and so on that you’ve visited on your own?
K.M. Eat at Khymer was too touristic for our taste – Angkor site.
Asian Square and Virouths in Siem Reap were very good..See above other comments.
- It’s highly appreciated if you could send us some of your photos taken during your journey as we’ll need them for our new brochure and updating our website.
We will happily do this.
